The Eye of Horus at Sunset - A Reminder to see Beyond the Illusion.

Sometimes life invites us to stop. Not because we planned to, but because something within us quietly whispers, "Take a moment."

This evening, I felt called to go for an evening walk. I went a little off course and got slightly lost, eventually finding myself in a beautiful churchyard on top of a hill.

I heard, "Photo." I trusted the guidance and took a photograph of the sunset stretching across the valley.

It wasn't until I looked back at it later that I saw something I hadn't noticed in the moment. To me, it looked like the Eye of Horus.

Whether it was simply the way the light aligned, the treetops framed the sunset, or the position of the sun, or something more symbolic, for me it felt deeply meaningful.

The Eye of Horus has always represented far more than protection. It is a symbol of awakening, higher consciousness, healing, inner wisdom, and divine sight. It reminds us that there are two ways of seeing: through the physical eyes or through the eyes of the soul.

Our physical eyes often perceive separation, fear, uncertainty, and limitation. The Eye of Horus invites us to see beyond those illusions. It encourages us to look beneath the surface, to recognise that what appears to be happening isn't always the full picture, and to trust the deeper intelligence that is constantly guiding our lives.

As I stood there in the churchyard, that felt significant too. A graveyard can easily represent endings when viewed through the physical mind. Yet, from a spiritual perspective, there are no true endings, only transformation. Energy cannot be destroyed; it simply changes form. The soul continues its journey beyond what we can see.

Standing amongst the gravestones while watching the sun set felt like such a profound reminder. The sun wasn't disappearing; it was simply moving beyond my view. In the same way, perhaps so much of life is about remembering that what leaves our sight doesn't cease to exist.

Maybe that's one of the greatest teachings of the Eye of Horus: to see beyond appearances, to trust beyond fear, and to recognise that divine light exists even when we can't immediately perceive it.

Perhaps awakening isn't about finding something new at all. Perhaps it's about remembering what has always been there, waiting for us to see it with different eyes.

Whether this photograph was simply a beautiful play of light or a gentle nudge from the Universe doesn't really matter.

What matters is how it made me feel.

It reminded me to slow down, to look deeper, and to remember that there is always more than meets the eye.

Sometimes, the greatest messages arrive in the quietest moments.
